how are you?
how is your heart?
are you rested? tested? broken? bright?
In 2023 I dedicated my book, Borealis Mundi - Resting in Place, Loss & Grace to;
those who, listen, love and tell from the fringes, the truth-sayers, the shift-shapers (and shape-shifters too) & the broken brights...
These folx, theses energies are my love language. I see you, I get you, I'm with you. I'm one of you. We are wholenesses in the whole mess!
And today, on a blindly sun-bright and bitterly cold (4F) day I offer a braiding of insignificant/meaningful, ephemeral, heartening experience, and perhaps a message, if you'd like one. If so, read on.
I. Sometime late last autumn a dear friend spontaneously gifted me with a disco ball. It was part of a display in her shop. For the record it's not a real dance floor disco ball, however as carried it out with both hands, I truly felt like I'd won the lottery.
Wonder in it's multitude of presentations is a grace, always and forever.
It's about 36" in diameter and sits, just right in the NW facing window, where I hung it in early January. It's covered with little mirrors struggling to stay stuck to the (i'm guessing) styrofoam (boo!) ball beneath.
Now, every sunny day, sometime between 4-4:15pm the sun's rays conspire with the disco ball (who I have named Agnetha) scattering hundreds of little lights in every direction - pure (always, every sunny afternoon for 15 minutes) magic.
II. Recently a friend, colleague and cultural architect Adriana Forte reached out about a creative project she was calling women folx into. It related to a poem she had recently written about Kintsugi and she was inviting me and others to video tape ourselves speaking out two phrases.
I am broken. We are broken
III. Yesterday while scrolling through the unfolding of the disturbing, the wonderous, the radical and evolutionary I came across a meme:
You are a disco ball.
A disco ball is hundreds of pieces of broken glass put together to make a magical ball of (reflective) light.
You are not broken.
You are a disco ball.
@thealphawomenclub
All my love and always yours in the unbroken ongoing,
Tracy
